Arrested lawmaker Lawrence Bishnoi has denied any involvement in sending a letter threatening Bollywood actor Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan and has denied any knowledge of the perpetrator. Delhi police officials told the ANI news agency, “Delhi police questioned the arrested criminal Lawrence Bishnoi about a letter threatening actor Salman Khan. He said he had no hand in the matter and did not know who had issued the letter.”
The development comes a day after Maharashtra Home Affairs tightened security for Dabangg 3 actor Salman Khan after he and his father and veteran script writer Salim Khan were sent a letter of death threats. Salim Khan was sitting on a bench at Bandra Bandstand after a morning walk on Sunday morning. It was then that a stranger handed him a letter threatening to kill Salim and Salman.
Following the issuance of the death warrant, Mumbai Police re-filed the FIR case under section 506-II of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Bandra police station.
Five officials from the Mumbai crime branch and local police arrived at Khan’s Galaxy Apartment residence in Bandra area and spoke to members of his family. They spent an hour at the actor’s house and then left, according to the official.
